Introducing Our First Utopia Monthly Pizza Pop Up
Wood-Fired Pizza in Utopia, Texas — Preorder Pickup Night
For the past few years, we’ve hauled our wood-fired pizza oven all over the Texas Hill Country.
Fredericksburg weddings. Corporate events in San Antonio. Ranch gatherings outside Kerrville. Backyard celebrations in Austin. Private catering events across South Texas.
And whenever we’re back in town supporting school events, visiting local businesses, or just out and about in the community, we hear the same thing:
“When are y’all going to set up in Utopia?”
Well… it’s finally happening.
We’re excited to officially announce our very first Utopia Monthly Pizza Pop Up right here in Utopia, Texas.

Why Utopia?
We love this community. We love the people here. We love how neighbors show up for each other.
Hill Country Mobile Pizza was built on the idea of gathering people around good food. There’s something powerful about sharing a meal with people you see every week, people you go to church with, people your kids play ball with.
We’ve spent the last two years catering weddings, ranch events, and private parties across Texas. But there’s something especially meaningful about firing up our wood-fired pizza oven right here in Utopia.
This pop up is our way of planting roots and showing up consistently for the town that supports us.
Why Now?
We are first and foremost a wood-fired pizza catering company serving Utopia and the Texas Hill Country.
Most weekends, our mobile pizza oven is booked for:
Wedding catering
Ranch events
Corporate gatherings
Rehearsal dinners
Private parties
School events
On top of that, we both work full-time jobs. So for a long time, the idea of a regular Utopia pizza night just didn’t fit into our schedule.
But this year, we decided to stop waiting for the “perfect time.”
If we want to build something steady in our hometown, we have to make the time.
So we are.
This monthly Utopia wood-fired pizza pop up is our first step.
A Huge Thank You to Valerie & Ernie Moore
This wouldn’t be possible without Valerie and Ernie Moore.
They’ve generously allowed us to use their catering home base here in town, and their constant support of our business means more than we can say. Small towns run on relationships, and we’re incredibly grateful for theirs.
Who knows… maybe one of these days we’ll even collaborate on a Big Ern’s BBQ pizza special. A little brisket on a wood-fired crust? We’re not ruling it out.
For now, we’re just thankful.
Why Preorder Only?
We know this is different from just “showing up and ordering.”
For this first Utopia pizza pop up, we are running it as preorder-only pickup.
Here’s why.
Every pizza we serve is:
Made from scratch
Hand-stretched
Built to order
Cooked one by one in a live wood-fired oven
This isn’t heat-lamp pizza.
This isn’t something sitting under a warmer all day.
This is high-heat, blistered-crust, bubbling-cheese, real wood-fired pizza made fresh for your family.
Because we cook in small batches in a live oven, timing matters. Preorders allow us to:
Avoid long lines
Eliminate guesswork
Reduce wait times
Protect quality
Keep things stress-free for our team
Think of it like reserving dinner at your favorite restaurant. You plan it out, choose your time, and your pizza is ready when you arrive.
Important Ordering Notes
For our first event on Friday, March 27 (3–7 p.m.):
Preorders open Friday, March 20
Orders close at noon the day of pickup, or earlier if we sell out
You’ll select a 15-minute pickup window at checkout
Your pizza will be kept warm for you, but please arrive during your chosen time so it stays at its best.
We will have a limited menu and limited quantities because everything is made from scratch in small batches.
In the future, we may experiment with offering a few “day-of” pizzas if timing allows. But for this first pop up, we’re keeping it structured so we can do it well.
Please bear with us as we try something new here in Utopia. Our goal is quality, not chaos.
Why Wood-Fired Pizza?
There’s something different about wood-fired pizza.
The smell of oak burning.
The flame rolling across the crust.
The slight char around the edges.
The soft center with just enough chew.
Our mobile wood-fired pizza oven cooks at high heat, creating the texture and flavor you simply can’t replicate in a standard kitchen oven.
It’s fast. It’s fresh. It’s an experience.
And we’re excited to bring that experience regularly to Utopia, Texas.
Planning Ahead
We are tentatively planning our next Utopia Monthly Pizza Pop Up for April 25.
The best way to stay in the loop is to sign up for notifications on our Hotplate ordering page. That way you’ll know exactly when preorders open and won’t miss out.
A Quick Note About Catering

From Our Family to Yours
This monthly pizza pop up isn’t about becoming a big restaurant.
It’s about showing up.
It’s about serving good food, made from scratch, right here in Utopia.
Fresh dough.
Quality ingredients.
Real wood fire.
Cooked with care.
We can’t wait to fire up the oven for our neighbors.
See you Friday, March 27.
